Is Multi level Marketing Recruiting Easy?

“Am I required to know and enroll many people in an MLM program to be successful?” is a frequently asked question.

A reply from many upline sponsors commonly is something similar to the following…

“No, you can create a great residual income and become very successful in Network Marketing by sponsoring just one person every month or two.

They will go on to tell you that the people you sponsor do not have to be from your “warm market,” (that is, your friends, relatives, and people you already know).  They say, just think of all the people you bump into every day in your normal activities!

Try this: sit down with a sheet of paper and a pen and make a list of the names of EVERYONE you know, have known, have done business with, etc.  You will be amazed by the number of people you come up with.

Surely not all these people will join your MLM program, however, you can still be very successful if only one in a hundred elects to join.  Statistics show that if one out of every hundred people you contact about joining your business, does so, it will be enough to make your car payment, another one will make your house payment, and one more will retire you!

Three out of every one hundred people you contact is certainly achievable but you have to actually go out and contact the one hundred people.  Some of them will not be interested themselves, but they mayknow someone who may be and they refer that person to you.  This referral process expands your list.

Now 97 rejections may not seem like a lot to your sponsor, but I’m sure that it seems like a lot to you!  I know that it sure felt like a lot to me!

Do you know a number of people who would be willing to approach one hundred people and get turned away by 97 of them over and over again?  If you do, terrific, go sign them up today.  However, most people will not continue trying to sell or recruit to a disinterested, unwilling or hostile market.

If you are lucky enough to recruit someone who is currently a seccessful network marketer with necessary skills, who brings along his established downline with him and becomes a “heavy hitter” in your company, then technically the answer given above is true.  If your company’s compensation plan is supportive, then that single recruit may be able to carry you along.

However, the chances of you sponsoring a “heavy hitter” who goes out and creates a large downline below you when you only recruit “one person every month or two,” is extremely unlikely.

So what are your alternatives if you can’t enroll a “heavy hitter” early on in you Multi Level Marketing recruiting efforts and you don’t relish the thought of being rejected by 97 out of every one hundred people you contact?

If you don’t wish to be a member of the NFL (No Friends Left) club, then I would suggest not pursuing your friends and family, everyone you know, or anyone within 30 feet as some upline sponsors instruct you to.  No matter what they say, everyone is not your market.  Instead your target market is people who are specifically interested in starting a home-based business, earning extra money, are already members of some Multi Level Marketing company or are interested joining a Network Marketing program.  Now the solution is to get them to come to you and then, using a soft sell approach instead of the traditional hard sell, enroll them into your business.

“OK, so just how do I go about doing that?”, you ask.

You can achieve this by offering your target market a free report or funded proposal relevant to your niche and building your mailing or emailing (preferable) list.  Then using this list, you build a relationship with the members of your list by providing them useful information and becoming an authority figure in their eyes.  This is known as relationship marketing.

If your market has been correctly identified, you will soon find that prospects will contact you seeking guidance and asking how to become a member of your business.
