Must Have Qualities Your Website Needs to be Successful
Don’t focus only on the home page, title, tags and keywords:
Keep in mind that when customers come to your site, they are looking for something specific, so make sure that what they are looking for is easy to find. Of course, search engine optimization and better rankings can’t keep your customers on your site or make them buy. There are several ebooks available to help you increase the traffic to your site, but that is too lengthy a topic to cover here. However, you can click on one of these links to: learn how to get free site traffic; learn how to increase traffic to website; and more information on how to get web site traffic. Once a visitor has visited your site, you must be able to ensure that he is interested enough with your site contents, information, products or services to stay for awhile and even return often. Motivate him/her to buy the goods or service by providing clear and unambiguous material. If you sell more than one product or service, the various merchandise can be on different pages of your website, but make sure that there are clear links to help guide the potential clientele to ALL products that you offer and they might want to purchase. By providing clear and easily navigable links, the customer can easily link to each of the pages necessary for the information they are looking for.
Understanding Your Target Visitor:
If you design a website you think will attract clients, but you don’t really know who your potential clientele are and what they want to buy, it is unlikely you will make much money.. An internet presence in the form of a website can be either an extension or even a replacement for a typical “brick and mortar” enterprise. You can send emails to your existing clients and ask them to complete a survey or even do it while they are browsing on your website. You can ask them about the choices they have made from your products. Why do they like your goods? Would they like to have discount coupons for your goods? Are the quality and cost of your products competitive? Is your shipping price cheaper? How about clientele support? Are your responses to questions timely? Are your product descriptions better? What about guarantees and return policy? Are they competitive? To get to know your visitors you can check credit card records or ask your customers to complete a simple contact form with name, address, age, gender, etc. when they purchase a merchandise.
Does your website tell your clients how to contact you for questions or problems?
When you sell from a website, your clients can buy your products 24 hrs a day and also your clients may be from other states that are thousands of miles away. Always provide contact information, preferably on every page of your website, complete with mailing address, telephone number and an email address that reaches you. There are numerous reasons that visitors may need to contact you such as general sales or specific product information or technical issues. If you do not check your online store mailbox often, have your email automatically forwarded to an mailbox that you do check often or even one that gets sent to your cell phone or PDA. Finally, make sure that you make the actual checkout and purchase process as simple and fast as possible by providing several payment options like credit or debit cards, PayPal, etc.
