How your used car is affected by a maintenance record
ByOne of the current trends going on with buying a used car is their maintenance records.A lot of people are now interested in seeing if a car has all of it’s maintenance records. Because after all if somebody took care of a car you can trust it will last longer. So if you have a vehicle you own it will be critical to keep a record of all maintenance.Because quite a few buyers are now wanting to see that.
So some things you can do is every time you go in to get service for your car keep a receipt of it. In my San Diego auto repair business I make sure to give all my clients a receipt of the work that was done.Be sure that whatever company you are going to get service from will do the same. This could be the deciding factor in whether or not you get the price you wanted or have to get something less.
Also, when you have your car taken in for a tune up, don’t forget to keep a record of it.Getting your vehicle tuned up on a regular schedule will help it run longer and smoother. It also helps to get your car to pass a smog test much easier. In my San Dieg smog check center I notice cars that weren’t tuned up regularly are the ones that fail the test.
Finallly even for getting your brakes serviced you want to make sure to keep good records of that service. This is another key part of taking care of your vehicle. It is also something a potential buyer will look at. Because the last thing a new buyer wants is a big expensive brake service they need. So in my San Diego brake shop I make sure to give a thorough report to all my clients.
Hopefully you see how important maintenance is if you want to sell your car for top dollar. Buyers want good cars that were maintained.By making sure to keep all your maintenace records you can show that you did take care of it.
